Agreement on joint management of IoT Platform business from Disaggregated electricity data
Energy Gateway Inc., which was formed 15th February 2018 as a subsidiary of Tepco Power Grid Inc., with its aim to provide an IoT platform, allocated third-party shares to Informetis on 3rd of April. This marks the beginning of starting new businesses with Energy Gateway as the core company.
Energy Gateway, Tepco PG and Informetis had already made agreement on jointly managing the IoT Platform business (*1) . From now on Energy Gateway will become the single business entity to provide the IoT Platform service that utilizes electricity sensor (*2) and disaggregation technology (also known as NILM: non-intrusive load monitoring (*3). Resources from both Tepco PG and Informetis will be joined effectively in order to implement a speedy business launch, through supporting in areas such as planning, development, product sales, providing services.
Tepco PG and Informetis will also further support the technology and service development, business strategy, strategic alliance with various industry players.
The three companies will continue to strengthen its competitiveness and corporate value, collaborate with companies in various industry segments, to provide a better and safer way of living for customers nationwide.
*1: Collect, store and analyze electricity sensor data and provide it as a business
*2: Visualize electricity generation and consumption that can be referred to enhance energy saving
*3: Technology to estimate major home appliance usage from a single sensor data
